    Hit the char limit. The reason that Jaguar is in trouble, financially that is, is because they don't make the mark of the reasons that I mentioned earlier. I agree with the poster below that they have a personality. The first time I sat in a XJ Super V8, I said "this is it". I didn't even have to drive it. Now driving it just solidified my feelings before, but it all comes back to the impossible to isolate thing that they possess. Maybe the poster below was dead on with calling it personality.

    I believe there is something about Jaguar cars, something that you can't put your finger on, but it is there. I am a great fan of the XJ and XK and my friends always say "well it's not the fastest, most techno equipped, newest, or most noticed." I just don't care. I think that if you don't feel this connection or understanding with Jaguars that you ever can understand their appeal. It's not about the reasons I mentioned above, it's not tangible, it simply is. I know this sounds like a cliche.

    you're right, but my use of the word 'like' was to suggest the affinity that they feel with Jaguars which you just described
    and what do you mean they can't compete?I know for a period they couldn't, but German cars were way behind the original XJ. And the current XJ. and the XF. and in my opinion, the S-Type was as good as any other German car...plus Jaguars have something that German cars ENTIRELY lack. Personality

    I think it's more that they want to like Jaguars because it's an iconic British brand than that they actually like them. Let's face it Jaguar has never been able to really compete with it's German rivals and being charmed by the brand's nostalgia is still a far cry from buying one. As far as I know not one of the 3 ownes a Jag.

    I think think this review is one of their most blatantly biased ones, I really don't believe that if any of them had to buy one of those 3 that they'd buy the Jag.. pretty sure they'd go for the 911. Also the straight-line race seemed like complete BS... all of a sudden at the very end of the race the Jag zips by the 911 which had been leading the whole way as if Hammond slammed on the brakes or something ...seemed very fake! It's not that i'm opposed to the Jag winning, it just seemed very fake

    Against the M6 wasn't a fair comparo in any possible way. The M6 has almost 200 bhp more than the cars here compared.. Then it's the brakes, tires, weight... The M6 wouldn't fit this in any way.
