The Ukraine Air Show crash of a Russian SU-27 jet is considered the worst air show disaster in history.

The Ukraine air show disaster happened on August 7, 2002 in Lviv, Ukraine. A Russian made Sukhoi SU-27 fighter jet was performing a maneuver at low altitude when it clipped the ground and became a somersaulting fireball into spectators. Eighty five people were killed and over hundred spectators were injured during the crash. The pilots, who ejected to safety, were ruled at fault for the crash.

    How would you know our planes spend a lot of time being fixed or not working? Yes they do a lot of maintenance because of safety regulations, bot because its broken. Better to give your equipment th once over more often, so you can catch any damage on the ground instead of in the air like the "low maintenance" Russian planes. get your facts straight about us before you mouth off please.

    Its hardly disregard... The plane was so low, it could of stalled. Some sources say the plane was to over-fueled and thus, too heavy for the move. It may hve had a defect. Either way, the pilots ejected AFTER first contact with the ground. They didnt bail early and let it go wherever it wanted. They went at the very last second.
