    Soha nem fogom elfelejteni azt a napot pedig még nagyon kicsi voltam, de azt az érzést nem lehet kitörölni. Kamaszkorom végéig jó barátságban voltam a pilóta fiával, akit máig is tisztelek, soha nem mutatta ki az érzelmeit a történtekkel kapcsolatban. És azért valljuk be, sokunknak egyáltalán semmi fogalma nincs arról milyen lehet apa nélkül felnőni.

    Well, the low manoeuvres are always etremely risky in air shows. In this case poor Major Soproni made the error and paid the ultimate price for it.

    It was on 16 September, 1990 in Pápa AFB, Hungary. The kite was the '04' MiG-23MF of the Hungarian Air Force, the pilot was Major Károly Soproni.

    Jesus Christ, thats one hell of a pilot. This could've turned out as a catastrophe. Guess the engine couldn't provide enough thrust at a crucial angle. To bad he didn't have time to eject.

    Ez durva. Kár, hogy én is ott voltam és átéltem. Máig nem tudok szabadulni attól az élménytől. Pedig kicsi voltam, de máig emlékszem midenre. Féltem kimenni a 2001-es repülőnapra is, itt Pápán. Nyugodjék békében Soproni "Sopi" Károly. Ami durva, hogy a fiával jó haverságban vagyok.

    he did'nt die when aircraft first touched the
    runway (with the engine exhaust first) but he
    pulled up again the aircraft with heavy damage to the engine and therefor the aircraft stopped flying and plunged to the ground,this time the pilot was killed on impact !

    hmm i wonder how he lost so much energy. He looked as if he had a decent amount of momentum through the turn. And when he hit the ground. it didnt look too bad. I woulda pulled my nose inward from the crowd with what remaning speed i had and just eject, forget trying to pull up. zero zero seats climb faster ^^

    unfortunately, he couldn't eject... If he did, the plane would have crashed on the crowd killing so many people. He was dead after hitting the ground first time by the G force... I feel sorry too... This was the first (and the last) "open day" in the base with airshow.
