I'll show you the secret gas companies and car manufacturers don't want you to know! Save $$$ now!
I gas up my car with oil-fuel instead of diesel, it costs exactly half of what gas and diesel cost, and it gets the same mileage. Of course this is illegal that is why i have a double gas tank so the police can never find out because there is actually 1 gallon of diesel in the seperate smaller tank, I gas up the big tank with oil-fuel in the trunk where there is a second opening to the bigger tank.
80% of people here have their own pumps at home so they can gas up their diesels with oil-fuel.
And by the way the only difference between oil-fuel and diesel is the colour and 0.5% of additives.
governments around the world all have these little niggly things that we never worry about but if you think about it those cheeky shits are getting richer and we are getting poorer(lets face it we all need more money)this is the case in the uk dont be fooled i wont. great vid tho nice 1 matey
By stevepll 1176826457 Reply Spam [+7] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSorry kipperoni and cheeze!!! (kipkay) even though the pure acetone DOES work, it can hurt the fuel lines, and all other plastic parts =(. Also, it can disturb your cars computer (more modern cars), but if you have an old worthless car you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!!

By Javoes 1180640832 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethats b/c you have socialized government, you take from those that work, and give to those that dont. enjoy your taxes.
By thesuperstar 1184764852 Reply Spam [+6] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNo, it is because the US gets 60% of its oil domestically. People like you are always trying to blame social programs for the problems here in the States, but you seem to have no problem with the FAR more expensive corporate welfare that we have.
By bioboy 1196119968 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIn Europe most of the price of gasoline are from taxes. We pay in other ways here. We get raped by the medical, insurance, and other costs

By tr-derin 1216648939 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeu know canada isnt considered domestically, eh?
By GreenWaveFlix 1217042291 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe *other* North America.
Canada's oil, while substantial, requires dramatic processing. US oil, while not quite the "light, sweet crude" of the Middle East, requires far less. In either case, all oil, foreign or domestic, goes not to the country it is procured from, but to the world oil market.
This is why new drilling, while, if done responsibly and intelligently, is not a bad idea (though republicans are know for de-regulating such things so that they are neither) it is not a real answer for rising oil prices.
I actually got a call from a broker recently who wanted me to invest in oil future options. When I mentioned that those options would be completely destroyed if a democrat is elected, which seems likely in the US, should the Enron Loophole be closed and energy markets were, once again, established so that speculators could not drive the price up unnaturally, he cut the conversation short and did not call back.
There are no simple solutions here. Closing the aforementioned loophole will help and will drive down the price of gas, domestic drilling will not.
Nor, will nuclear power, though many people think otherwise. Nuclear power takes an investment of 8 to 12 billion per plant. No energy company is willing to take that kind of risk for such an investment, so the only way to get them built is through energy company subsidies, where the energy companies reap all the benefits, but take none of the risk. This option may not be a bad idea, but it must be balanced with the concept of investing that money into alternative energy. If, instead of building say, 10 nuclear plants, you invested 80 to 120 billion in alternative energy, you could easily, if nothing else, come up with a battery that is 10x more powerful. Imagine a hybrid car that is carrying 120 lbs of batteries as opposed to 1200.
Which seems the smarter investment here?
but we don't have socialized medicine. you are the lucky ones if such a thing there be.

i have a diesel car and want to increase milage too, but i cud not understand the way u described. can u plz write all this trick here for me, and tell me what is this oil-fuel?
thanks
its about 1200 dollars but converting to veggie oil really will save you money
By Scott19703 1207701889 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removedo you realize that home oil fuel contains a marker. The oil does in fact work as fuel and is cheaper but i sure hope you never want to have your car inspected again because i wont pass. The test for the markers is part of every diesel vehicle inspection in most states. Im aware of this because about five or so years ago my old pal stan had the same bright idea as you and it worked out great for a while until he got pulled over and the cop saw his expired registration. They gave him a ticket that could be appealed if he had his car inspected and re registered. he went into the local shop and failed not to mention the shop by law had to contact the police. lets just say it didn't end well for him.

THE OIL HE IS TALKING ABOUT IS HOME HEATING OIL.
the 1oz. of Acetone could not easily be detected in an emissions test.
By sparky32 1206572854 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeso if you have clear or white fuel lines they will turn red.and if they wanted to check closer they would just remove the fuel filter and it would have gas oil in it.

Saving on gas is a huge cost saver for me. I have heard about acetone, but not so sure if it is good in the long run.

In Europe & Asia most normal cars will do at least 30 - 50 to the gallon without all this " Information ". And as for high gas prices, think yourself lucky you only pay $2.50, we pay almost £5 per gallon ($7.5)
By the lodge 1176500444 Reply Spam [+15] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou drive a go-kart with doors that gets 30-50 mpg and the oil companies know that so they jack up the price at the pump to make up the difference. Wake up and smell the coffee, or tea if you prefer, it does'nt matter what you drive, the big boys will always get their money by hook or by crook!

By EvilWarPie 1179360937 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIn fact as Americans are starting to switch to Gas Electric hybrids and more fuel efficient modular engines the Gov't is starting to push through legislation to increase fuel taxes in order to keep revenues up.

By Rossss 1177700422 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHere in California, where I live, distances are great between work and home, or pretty much anywhere. It's not uncommon for someone to work 75 to 100 miles from where they live. In Europe, where cities are smaller and distances are less, you can easily get away with driving a golf cart to and from work (slight exagerration of course) but here in the States we don't have that much choice. Additionally, our population, and hence our volume of cars, is also greater so switching to smaller cars is easier said than done. As for the Acetone test, I'd sure like to the Mythbusters do a test on that.
By mgsipa 1179787572 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMYTHBUSTERS did do it!!!
it dramaticly lowered fuel econemy!!!
so they did do an episode?
By FDT '09 1226507966 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHey, you make a good point about the distance thing. I like your Mythbusters idea too, that would be a good project for them.
By flymyway 1179799547 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveUmm lots of engines now days were develope by or in cooperation with American Motor companies. Engine development is a very expensive business venture and no one motor company usually takes on that development process single handedly. Also, Ford/GM/Chrysler either own or have a sizable market share of many European manufacturers.
By HeftyJoe 1179335896 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei think vw engines are made by bosch, audi, webasto, and a lot more

By tr-derin 1196445027 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe car he used in this video was a honda accord. made in japan! also american cars have way more emmision regulations than euro cars If I removed the EM/Smog controllers from my truck i could go from 24mpg to around 32 and get a 45% boost in HP but it would be illeagal in the states. As for fuel being more expensive....you guys get better mileage so the oil companies charge you guys more so that the profit/consumption ratio is even. that should clear this debate up.
By USAMike 1193543112 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removedo NOT meat american emission regualtions which means that we need a bigger engine for same power
By bobwaters 1180069068 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI went online and compared a 2007 Bmw 325i with a Saab 9-5 Aero (4CYL):
I couldn't justify getting a BMW, as the Saab beats it in just about every department - especially the price and running costs.
I have a 2000 9-5 Aero automatic that gets 23mpg overall (ie. highway and city driving mix) with NO modification, (correct tire pressure and no excess weight not withstanding), running on 87RON. I keep the emergency 'space-saver' wheel and jack, 'cause it's quicker to just change it. I've no patience for the rescue unless I reall need it.
I've been informed that running it on 91RON would improve mpg and performance, but this seems pretty economical for what I have to work with.
I didnt ask you...
By Iknowstuff 1179764563 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI live in Philadelphia and I average about 17-18 mpg. If I take a road trip wher I am on the highways I get 32 mpg.
To get 34 mpg, like this vid, in the city is amazing.
is tax & duty in the UK. Daylight robbery!!
I am almost tempted to try this.
its $10 to £5 at the moment so for all u americans that moan about petrol prices, think we pay 4 times ur price here in uk for petrol
By frostyyyyyyyy 1176917153 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGas prices are high all over but I do have something that I am using that helps a lot. Of course regular car maintenance will help but this goes way beyond that. It not only gets me better mileage, saves me money and increases power it also cuts my green house gas emissions by more than 75% and it is guaranteed to work. Take a look. www.megamileage.mpgproduct.com
By e120034m 1179804806 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeto the doctor for free....$10,000 for a few days in the hospital compared to "high gas prices" ha!
By raynewoman 1180939361 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe majority of the money you pay towards gas is actually tax. As the fuel efficiency increases gov't increase taxes to compensate and keep revenue through energy taxes up. I know in the states that only 10 cents/gallon is actual profit to the gas companies. The majority goes to taxation of various sorts. In fact there are cities in the U.S. that are already responding to increases in fuel economy by increasing gas taxes.
By HeftyJoe 1179334821 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyep its true!you guys in the States have got it made!..big cars and cheap fuel, while we get ripped off by crooks who call themselves "The Government"!
By tez1952 1176752889 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewe (US) pay alot more income tax compared to europe. and that is the reason why european pay more for gas.
By sun350z 1176781057 Reply Spam [+4] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewe pay an income tax rate similar to the USA an still get ripped off at the fuel pumps, u r prob talkin about the fact we pay a national insurance (we don't get turned away from hospitals when on deaths door cos we haven't got round to gettin a new insurance policy )
By frostyyyyyyyy 1176917409 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIm no hippy or greenpeace activist but 17 miles to the gallon is pathetic, not only are you throwing away your money, your more than doubling the emissions that the rest of the world would use on the same journey. A lot of Americans don't see it but most big American cars have absolutely no fuel efficiency, the rest of the world views a 3 litre engine as a big fast engine, to Americans thats a small insignificant engine, even though our 3 litres are just as fast as your 6 litres!
By Rossss 1176643639 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removedrive fast ,

we drive v-8 v-6 and 4 cyc and in a dodge vipper it has a v-10 the corvette has a v-8 and has about 450 horse power and thats not the top a the line vet

By flymyway 1179800030 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyour (3litres) is NOT as fast as our 6... your "3litres" in order to be just as fast as our 6 has to guzzle the SAME AMOUNT OR MORE of fuel to pump out the same horsepower as our 6... not to mention, your torque ranges SUCK... so... lets see u do like ol' Mickey and take 4 pontiac engines and do 400 MPH on land... with your so beloved "3 litres".... lmfao...
By Rapture47 1177881512 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeengine speeds arent as black and white as that, double the fuel doesnt mean double the speed, a well made engine will go much faster than a sloppy made large engine that guzzles fuel
By Rossss 1177883481 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWanna try to compare a highly refined large displacement engine to a refined small displacement engine?
A 150 hp engine is not going to keep up with a 250 hp engine when other things remain the same - volumetric efficiency, weight, gearing, drag.
In order to make more power you have to consume more fuel. You don't get something for nothing.
You make a good point but you also have to figure efficiency. You actually DO "get something for nothing" when you can squeeze more useful power out of a more efficient engine for any given amount of fuel burned. Look at Jap bikes that can get around 3hp/c.i.
By flymyway 1179799938 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewho's getting 17mpg, im fairly sure you didnt watch the video because he's getting 34. why dont you yell at the poeple who don't do anything to change the amount of gas they use, not those who do (ie "this is fake"). your yellin at the guy telling others how to cut back on gas usage, about his overusage. you got the passion, just find some direction.
By soccersta 1177538934 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewatch the video yourself and get it right, his car does stupidly low milage, 17mpg before the 'adjustments', 34 after. And i wasnt yelling at his gas usage, its his car, i was talking about the ridiculous milages that most large engined american cars have, i mean 17mpg, anyone else in the world would consider that stupidity but americans think its normal.
By Rossss 1177700628 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI happen to have had a '99 corvette six speed for over five years. My "V8" not only ran a 13.0 second quarter mile (bone stock), but it also made 25/32 MPG.....I have several friends who have C5 model corvettes and the same is true with them....How do those exotics do on MPG? With the high revs, high horsepower, and high cylinders numbers (V12) I can't say that they could really compare...But I don't have that kinda money to find out...But, my 2.0L '99 two door honda accord only gets about 18/25 MPG....While my '03 fullsize chevy 1/2 ton pickup gets 15/22 not a huge difference....I gotta figure those Honda engines are pretty efficient and where is my better bang for the buck?
