I know what Bill O does is often for show, but man after this Fannie/Freddie crap, Bill was saying (and yelling) everything I'VE wanted to say to Barney Frank. Frank is a lying douche who deserves everything he's got coming to him. He is largely responsible for the financial fiasco we face now, yet he still wants to blame Bush & Republicans, DESPITE all the evidentiary video and transcript pieces there are out there.

For this one time, good on ya, Bill.

  • Bill o thinks he knows everything

He knows nothing about the bail out Bill,he picks and cuts what he want to have people hear, and then all he can do to a congressman is yell at the guy and not listen and thinks he`s right,O`reilley is a complete ass wipe. Why on Earth would anyone want to go on his show and put up with O`s big trap running,I give Obama a big clap of the hands for going on his just knowing how O`reilly is,Fanny and Freddie Bushs rich buddies did this to themselves, sorry

  • Neither Frank nor Bush is responsible.

The people who are responsible are Phil Gramm and the predatory lenders. Phil Gramm created the completely unregulated market that is now collapsing and dragging the economy along with it. The predatory lenders flat out lied to their clients, saddling them with mortgages that they knew were ticking time bombs.

    • and..

is that sort of ego based, biased attack real journalism??

By TheJapanChannel.com 1223102587 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • He does not claim to be a journalist.

He admits he is a commentator and I feel that journalism as an art is dead even by those who still claim to be one. The fact is that all the talikng heads you see now a days have an agenda to push and it is up to us as individuals to use our own minds in doing our own research; because we are not getting the unvarnished truth any longer rather we are getting their personal views disguised as anaylsis.

    • sure :)

I can agree with you on that.
I also think guys like this one are all about entertainment.. and unfortunately these days people like to see aggression and rudeness..
      "Yeah, you tell him, Bill!!!!"
Have a look at the "thumbs down" on the "anti-Bill" comments... so many Americans love this style of person!!!
      Scary!!!

    • It's not just Americans, its world wide

I speak with people from all around the world and they all have the same distorted view of Americans rthat you have. When I press them for their reasons I invariably get the same lies that are spread by the media around the world.

    • huh?

"They all have the same distorted view.." ???
And you think they ALL have the same view because of the media??
Lets just look at the comments on this page....
Including the thumbs up and down....
This isnt "the media" this i a forum of ideas.. and we can see what the majority are saying...

    • By my count the majority is against you.

I agree this is a forum of ideas and it looks like the majority agrees with Bill. I don’t agree with his style, but I do agree with what he is getting at, that Frank and his group are in part responsible for this mess, but no one in the media is saying this except blowhards like Bill. I hate his style, but he is right and if the media were less one sided then shows like the factor wouldn’t stand a chance because people could believe what they were being told.

The fact is that the majority of the world dislikes the actions of the US because it stopped kowtowing to the world and decided to protect its interests first. This has set much of the world against it and the media in those nations spread the same half truths to get the public behind them. If people would do their own research then they would have a more balanced view of the US.

Barney is right about Bill distorting his comment. If you go to the begining he said that it is not a good investment for the long term

    • Whatever

It still does not take away from the fact that house republicans where saying back in 2003 "McCain and Bush included" that these two companies where going to have a crises. And Good'ol Barney being barney, said that was simply not true. The house Dems fell asleep on this one, and now they want to blame Bush's 8 years. What a bunch of idiots.

    • Not an excuse

Frank and his cronies pushed The Fed with threats, to authorize loans so that "anyone can afford their own home, it's the American dream". Even, when these "anyone's" should never have be authorized for a car loan, let alone a house.

  • Typical Liberal

Barney Frank could have stopped all of this by simply saying, "Yep, I was wrong." Instead, he ducked responsability in the typical liberal fashion (It's not my fault). Frank didn't cause the housing collapse, but he didn't step up to the plate and tell people the truth...that if the housing market took a turn for the worse that fannie and freddie didn't have the funds in reserves to stay viable. Elect some more of those libs folks...especially you people in Michigan who have seen that your tilt toward dems for president and your fine mayorial choices have decimated your fine state. Barney Frank is a typical liberal who says two things at the same time so that he can use the best sound bite later when his policy turns to crap.

  • Blaming someone else...

... is as Republican as guns and religion.

If US people think this kind of journalism is "good", that explains why the US is in such horrible trouble.

    • Get your information straight.

John McCain co-sponsored a bill called "The Housing Enterprise Regulatory Act of 2005". This legislation would have brought Fannie and Freddie under close regulation and prevented the current economic problems. Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Melvin Watt and Barack Obama railed against this legislation with the fervor of a baptist preacher. Yes, Barney Frank is one of the principles in the current economic crisis. It seems to me that you don't know, and don't want to know, the truth.
